Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a non-invasive therapy that involves breathing a higher concentration of oxygen in a pressurised hyperbaric oxygen chamber.
How hyperbaric oxygen therapy works
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy allows your lungs to take in more oxygen while you are in the pressurised chamber. The oxygen transports through your bloodstream to the cells and tissues in your body.
HBOT session in Melbourne
During a hyperbaric oxygen therapy session, you will lie in a pressurised chamber called an ‘AirPod’. The air pressure in the chamber can be up to 3 times the normal air pressure. The elevated pressure enables your lungs to intake more oxygen than usual.
Hyperbaric oxygen chamber session duration
Each session of HBOT lasts either 80 or 50 minutes at Fresh Treatments. Fifty to Eighty minutes per day is all the time you need in the oxygen chamber.
Appropriate attire for HBOT session
When participating in our HBOT therapy, it’s important to wear comfortable clothing. Being fully clothed in the ‘AirPod‘ is fine. Some clients believe less clothing helps, but it doesn’t matter.
After hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment
The chamber is decompressed at the end of your HBOT treatment, and you may feel a popping in your ears.
“My friend and I booked an oxygen therapy for me and normal recovery for her, and we enjoyed it immensely. we have never done anything like this before and looking forward to the benefits of these treatments and will definitely be going back..staff were amazing, too…thank you.”
