We Break Down The Best Oxygen Therapy Clinics in Melbourne

July 1st, 2025
Oxygen Therapy Clinics

Health and wellness has become one of the top priorities for people today. From fitness to skincare, even rest and relaxation, there are now many clinics that offer various treatments and services to support your journey or if you simply want to unwind. One of these treatments is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

This process exposes you to extra oxygen to boost how much is in your body. Studies show that higher blood oxygen levels can help your body make collagen, reduce swelling from injuries, and help your white blood cells work better. It’s getting more popular, especially with athletes and active people, as it’s a brilliant way to ease sore muscles.

If you’re interested and looking to try it, you’re in luck! We’ve put together a list of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy clinics in Melbourne’s suburbs. Maybe one of them is in your neighbourhood and you can consider visiting for the experience!

National Institute of Integrative Medicine (NIIM)

First on our list is the National Institute of Integrative Medicine (NIIM). They run their practice from their Melbourne clinic and this includes Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy treatments.

At NIIM, their treatment focuses on helping muscle tissue and blood vessels heal. It’s also good for managing infections and reducing swelling and inflammation. While other clinics offer a mild treatment, NIIM believes Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy only works when patients are exposed to over 1.9 ATA pressure and they must breathe 100% oxygen during their sessions.

Their clinic has two chambers that operate at 3 ATA, and are run by trained nurses and operators, whilst being overseen by a General Practitioner (GP). If you think you’re up for NIIM’s strong and high pressure session, you must be at least 16 years old and must have a GP referral. For this particular treatment, each session costs $350.

The NIIM Clinic is located in Hawthorn. For appointments and consultations, you may visit their clinic every Monday to Friday from 8AM to 5PM.

Surecell

Surecell medical group prides itself as world leaders in regenerative medicine. They specialise in autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and cell therapies and treat up to a thousand patients every month. They also train medical professionals around the world and create educational materials for both patients and workers.

What’s different about Surecell’s Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is that sessions take place inside an inflatable chamber so it’s not as stiff or intimidating as other clinics’. At the start of the session, you may feel a familiar sensation as the pressure increases. It’s like you are going up or down from a high place, similar to riding an aeroplane or a lift at high altitudes.

During the one-hour session, you can relax, sleep, meditate, or bring a book to read. Unlike other clinics that use large machines made of metal, Surecell’s inflatable chamber allows you to bring in small devices like your phone to listen to music, or even your laptop whilst the session is ongoing. After the treatment, you can carry on with your day like you normally would, and also eat and drink as soon as it finishes.

Each Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy session costs $50, but Surecell offers packages for discounts and savings. It’s $130 for three sessions, and $350 for 10 sessions.

Surecell has multiple clinics in Melbourne, specifically in Malvern, Camberwell, and Yea.

Melbourne Integrative Oncology Group

Another clinic that can help you with your wellness journey is the Melbourne Integrative Oncology Group (MIOG). Whilst MIOG specialises primarily in cancer-related services, they also have a separate hub that’s more focused on the community’s wellness needs.

MIOG’s Wellness Hub offers treatments such as infrared sauna, massage, compression, and of course, Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Oxygen therapy sessions happen inside a pressurised chamber called the AirPod where you will be inhaling purified air or pure oxygen.

This treatment’s maximum pressure is only at 1.35 ATA, which is lower than traditional Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. This makes it accessible to more people who are looking for ways to relax. It also offers various benefits including improved brain function, enhanced physical performance and faster recovery.

It’s worth highlighting that MIOG allows patients to adjust the pressure they are exposed to for a more personalised experience. Once you reach your desired pressure, you can recline your chair and sit comfortably. You can read a book, bring your phone to listen to music or use your laptop during your session which is around 50-80 minutes.

MIOG’s oxygen therapy costs $50 for 50 minutes per session and $130 for 80 minutes per session. They also have packages for more sessions at discounted rates. You can learn more by checking MIOG’s website or visiting their Melbourne clinic at 769 South Road, Bentleigh East.

The Orchard Wellness

Have you heard about The Orchard? They’re a clinic that has been around since 2014, offering a calm, affordable and scientifically supported approach to wellness. They aim to empower patients through proven therapies, nurturing spaces and ongoing care. Among the treatments they offer is Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, which helps patients breathe deeper, heal faster and recharge from the inside.

At the Orchard, they have chambers that offer Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at different pressures: 1.1 ATA, 1.2 ATA, 1.35 ATA and 1.5 ATA. If you’re doing this session for the first time, you can always choose to try the lower pressures and work your way up with each visit. A single session is around 45-90 minutes where you can simply sleep and relax or read a book whilst lying down inside the chamber.

To ensure your privacy, health and safety, chambers are placed in a private space and are cleaned regularly. They also provide fresh towels with each use. Additionally, chambers are designed to be spacious to reduce anxiety or feelings of being trapped.

The Orchard’s Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy costs $85 for a single 45-minute session, but they have an introductory offer of $50. They also have introductory packs to enjoy a combination of services like hyperbaric oxygen therapy, red light therapy, infrared sauna, ice bath, floatation, and compression boots. For $100, you can try any three services, and for $150, you can get all of them.

If you are in the Prahran and Richmond suburbs, you can visit the Orchard centres here for your Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Check out their website for bookings and more information.

Alchemy Cryo

Alchemy Cryo sounds like it’s straight out of a sci-fi film, but they’ve actually been around since 2018. Alchemy Cryo considers itself as a total body and health wellness centre. They have been helping patients improve their health, especially those who are dealing with stress and anxiety, whilst also having an unhealthy diet. They aim to boost energy levels, lower inflammation, and reduce anxiety and insomnia.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy sessions at Alchemy Cryo expose patients to a pressure of 1.5 ATA. You will be resting inside a hard shell chamber where you’ll be wearing your own oxygen face mask. Whilst electronic devices are not allowed inside the chamber, you can still sleep, meditate or read a book for the duration of the treatment.

Alchemy Cryo advises patients to have oxygen therapy with a day or two in between to allow the body to rest. If you prefer to do back-to-back sessions up to three times per week, this is still within their advice but make sure to consult for safety. You also have an option to combine Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy with their other services such as Whole Body Cryotherapy, ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) Charger, and Reboot Pod.

One session costs $86, but if you come with a friend, it will only be $137 or $69 each. You can also opt for five sessions upfront for only $295 or 10 sessions for $547 where you can try different treatments. These sessions are valid for 12 months.

Alfred Health

Next on our list is Alfred Health, which provides a comprehensive range of healthcare services in Melbourne and Victoria. They have three hospital campuses (The Alfred, Caulfield Hospital and Sandringham Hospital), a large network of community programmes and 18 statewide services.

Whilst their Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at The Alfred is available for both inpatients and outpatients, they mainly treat specific patients. You may consider visiting The Alfred for oxygen therapy if you meet any of the following conditions: radiation tissue injury, osteoradionecrosis (ORN), those with head or neck radiotherapy and require dental clearance/surgery, radiation cystitis/proctitis, soft tissue damage/surgical wound healing in an irradiated area, osteomyelitis, wound healing (depending on underlying cause like diabetes), compromised surgical flaps and wounds, and decompression illness (commonly known as ‘the bends’).

The Alfred has three pressurised rooms, which are big enough to treat patients who are in beds including those from Intensive Care. They also cater to those who come in for daily treatments. As a requirement for this treatment, you must have a referral from your general practitioner to access this service. Wear comfortable clothes, and have a responsible adult carer who can stay with you to hear instructions and take you home after.

For consultations and appointments, you can visit The Alfred at 55 Commercial Road in Melbourne.
